Tony and Rita were born and bred in sunny Natal, Durban, South Africa. They are well known Hog Roast and Barbecue Caterers based in Christchurch, Dorset. Specialising in delicious hog roast, and handmade O’Hagan’s Sausages barbecued over charcoal fires, they cater for a wide range of events across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire.
Tony and Rita’s interest in outdoor catering started many years ago by arranging fund raising events. Barbecue and lamb roast evenings were held at their children’s schools and swimming clubs with great success.

They soon garnered a reputation for providing great food at a reasonable price. After moving to the UK in 1999 Tony continued in catering by working part time for a mobile catering company at large sporting and music events.
It was whilst working at these events that the idea of starting their own sausage barbecue and hog roast business was born.
Tony and Rita found that the fast food cooked and sold at these events left much to be desired so, after much soul searching, they began to acquire the equipment they needed to start their dream…..that of being self-employed Hog Roast and Barbecue Caterers!
Our delicious hog roasts are available throughout Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Wimborne, Ringwood, Fordingbridge, the New Forest, Salisbury and the surrounding towns and villages of Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire.
Britain’s Best Sausage Makers
The next trick was to find the right product and a chance meeting with Bill and Liam O’Hagan at the Isle of Wight Garlic Festival provided the opening they needed.
Bill O’Hagan was also from South Africa and happened to attend the same school that Tony went to, Maritzburg College.
This coincidence went a long way to cementing the new friendship and opened the door to a new name for the business and several new events including the ever popular Romsey Show.
A Victorian Festival of Christmas at the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth and the Victorious Festival amongst others.
O’Hagan’s Sausages, awarded the title of “Britain’s Best Sausage Makers”, have proudly produced high quality, additive free sausages for the past 26 years. Their slogan “No Artificial Anything” is well known across the UK.

The next stage in growing the business, Hog Roast Dorset, began with the purchase of a hog roast machine. Made by Hog Boss in Leicestershire, the machine is capable of cooking a 65kg pig in approximately 7 hours. Crispy crackling and succulent pork served in soft rolls with apple sauce and stuffing.
The hog roast side of the business has grown phenomenally over the past year with inquiries bookings already being taken for weddings in 2016!
Hog roasts are very popular in the UK and are quite probably, based on price per person, the best way to entertain guests at any special event be it a wedding, 21st birthday party, corporate function or christening.
